Job Description

• The role is to work on continuous improvements and new project development, including testing, within Derivatives Trade Flow Front-to-Back trade capture addressing Operations requests and processes.

• The main work requires understanding, interpreting and enhancing the trade data model (in a variety of formats and databases, such as XML, Sybase and Oracle).

• This includes enhancing the applications that provide and utilize trade data to fulfill business processes such as settlements, confirmations, reconciliations and a myriad of reporting and feeds to controllers, regulators, auditors, to name a few.

Tasks likely to include:

• Development in J2EE/Java

• Sybase and Oracle database development

• Writing technical specifications for design reviews

• Use of SQL to perform data investigation and data clean-up

• System setup and configuration for other IT groups

• System and performance test planning and execution

• UAT test support

• Performance tuning

Desired Candidate Profile

Skills required:

• 2 to 5 years IT development and support experience in Java / J2EE Technologies

• Understanding of multi-tiered architecture

• Understanding of parameter-driven, configurable systems

• Experience of full project life cycle.

Technical Skills required:

• Java/J2EE (2 to 4 years)

• Sybase or Oracle SQL/DML/DDL (2 to 4 years)

• Strong Object-oriented programming skills

• Active usage of XML classes, XPath traversal and XML Schema (2 to 4 years)

• Good knowledge of OTC derivative products
